For those of you helping me to identify what is attacking my Oregano and other herbs, here are some more photos. and thanks for your help, by the way!
The upper surfaces have been the subject of the attacks. Lots of separate little areas of damage.
This is the underside of the leaf seen above. No damage. And definitely no leaf-miners inside the leaf. The dark area near my thumb is simply the damage on the upper surface making the leaf look thin.
The big hole in this next leaf is clearly caterpillar damage, so I'm not worried by that, but its the white scarring that concerns me.
I looked very closely at this plant as I took the photos, but I couldn't see any creatures on it. So what do you think this is?
Looks like thrips damage but, I ma not sure.
ReplyDeleteDitto what Vesna said or perhaps leaf hoppers, but knowing how closely you inspect your plants, I have a feeling you would have noticed them if that were the case.
ReplyDeleteIf you see no bugs on them in the daytime, I think I would check them out at night and see if they are on the leaves then.
ReplyDeleteI think it's just lack of nutrients, and then natural depletion of chlorofyll and die back.

ReplyDeleteNo way! I have been feeding it very conscientiously. Definitely insect damage.
