Just got back home 5 days early (or 7 days too late?) from our "Danube cruise" holiday. I will be writing about it in more detail soon, on this blog, but for now, suffice it to say that this was perhaps the worst holiday we have ever had the misfortune to be involved in! The floods on the Danube, being a natural disaster, cannot be blamed on the tour operators, but the way in which they handled the aftermath leaves a LOT to be desired.
What words would I use to describe the experience? Fiasco. Incompetence. Dishonesty. Ineffectual?
What had initially looked like being the holiday of a lifetime has turned out to be a massive disappointment.
More on this soon!
Mark.
So sorry to hear that your holiday didn't work out. I was looking forward to hearing about all the interesting places too.
ReplyDeleteWas it one of those river cruises by Viking? Didn't know the Danube was flooding.
ReplyDeleteYou were looking forward to that so much! I guess you have the right spot to clear the air, so to speak. I wouldn't wish to be their PR person right now. I have another phrase to add to your 'Ineffectual" list: "WDC" = WE DON'T CARE. Isn't that so often the case both sides of the pond?
ReplyDeleteoh Mark, such a shame... although from one of your previous post you had suspected it was going to be sticky... such a shame these holiday companies can't get their act together when dealing with a crisis... on a lighter note am loving the very sweet picture of you on your blog... nice to have a cheery face to place with the brilliant blog!
ReplyDeleteWhat a huge disappointment - go get even!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear it wasn't up to expectations. I shall wait to hear more.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that it went so badly. I know how much you were looking forward to the trip.
ReplyDeleteOh Mark - what a disappointment - I hope you have another holiday planned for later on to make up for it.
ReplyDeleteSo Sorry to hear that!!
ReplyDeleteShame about the holiday, sounds really bad.
