More info on Fungus Forays

We're members of the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and I just remembered that they sometimes do Fungus Forays.

There's one coming up near us on Sunday 3rd October. It's at Hook Common, near J5 of the M3. That's about 5 miles from us, so I think I'll go. Presumably in order to participate you need to be a member of the Trust, so I suggest to join now! Further details are available via their website http://www.hwt.org.uk/ or from Peter Vaughan on 01256 764225.

There is also two other HWT Fungus Forays coming up:-

The first is on Friday 15 October at Paices Wood, near Aldermaston, led by local expert Mike Waterman. Further details available from Lydia Knight on 01256 334316.

The other one is on Saturday 16 October, in Langley wood, between Redlynch and Landford. Further details from Paul Toynton on 01725 518510.

Anyone planning to go on a Fungus Foray should consider getting hold of a copy of "Mushrooms - River Cottage Handbook No.1", by John Wright (introduced by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall). Price £9.99 + P&P from  http://www.rivercottage.net/
