Here are some photos of another batch of Crocuses. The cream-coloured ones are called "Cream Beauty" and are flowering at the time stated on the pack they came in - i.e. "February / March", but the purple ones (just labelled "Purple") are supposed to flower in March / April. The Yellow-and-black stripey ones are "Gypsy Girl". And the light purple / blue one right at the end is one whose name I don't know - naturalised several years ago.

ReplyDeleteI have Cream Beauty too. Our crocuses are great at the moment as are the mini daffodils. You could have some of those as they don't take much room!

ReplyDeleteCeline: I have never consciously grown flowers for eating, though I do occasionally grow things like Nasturtiums and Pansies, which can be eaten.

ReplyDeleteThey are SO beautiful. I now live in Sydney but we lived in Cambridge for 5 years. Crocus were my first sign that warmth MIGHT return - important for an Aussie. My darling man gave me a surprise one year. I was overseas for work and while away he planted crocus bulbs in the grass - yellow and white ones. I had no idea until late winter had passed and then, there they were sprouting in the grass. What a special surprise!

ReplyDeleteLovely crocus collection and most in pots. I find them hard to over summer that way myself. Our garden usually has had 2 maybe 3 crocus bloom by March 01, this year 12 different crocus and most are near finished.
My personal favourite is the cream beauty which I used to have but they seem to have disappeared - must rectify that situation next year
