It hasn't really been a good year for testing out there blight resistance has it? We haven't had any blight yet. Will the Sarpo foliage actually die down. We once grew Sarpo Mira and the foliage just kept growing. If we had left it we would have had potatoes the size of footballs.

Sue Garretthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08164518448098182276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-65316723129523690432015-08-30T01:59:39.369+01:002015-08-30T01:59:39.369+01:00Beautiful potatoes. I'm glad that your blight resistant potatoes did well - hopefully this means that your potato season is a few weeks longer now.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-80131509216455993182015-08-29T15:03:59.547+01:002015-08-29T15:03:59.547+01:00That's praise indeed from Jane about the Shona...That's praise indeed from Jane about the Shona variety, I love Jersey Royals but didn't reckon much to International Kidney (which is the same variety) when I grew them. It's just a shame the yield from Shona wasn't bigger, but that's not to say it wouldn't be if you grew it again. I've found the yields can be quite variable when grown in containers, even the same variety potato can vary considerably, so perhaps it would be worth trying Shona again.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17436932004631816039noreply@blogger.com
