So...I find perfectly round tomatoes rather boring. Some of our grocery stores do stock locally grown heirloom tomatoes in late summer and, judging by the price which is 3x that of regular tomatoes, I don't think I'm the only one that appreciates them! My favourite tomato in the looks department is Costoluto Genovese, which is described as a fluted tomato. They are so gorgeous that it's hard to keep my eyes off them when I have some in the kitchen.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-44435886100816338702015-09-27T01:13:51.430+01:002015-09-27T01:13:51.430+01:00I'll take tasty with character over shop bough...I'll take tasty with character over shop bought any day.Janettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14200939679562558409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-67964205996242868432015-09-26T22:27:40.109+01:002015-09-26T22:27:40.109+01:00Talking of chillis my son-in-laws mother often eat...Talking of chillis my son-in-laws mother often eats two raw scotch bonnet chillis with her dinner she tells me it is good for her arthritisDavid Fordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02276760687239662781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-87141435605172584592015-09-26T19:42:34.872+01:002015-09-26T19:42:34.872+01:00I probably won't use the black chillis, since ...I probably won't use the black chillis, since I will have plenty of red ones, but I have in the past made Christmas tree decorations with chillis (red ones though). I have seen the Yellow Pear tomatoes on sale sometimes, but usually in a mixed punnet of cherry-sized tomatoes. Sometimes the supermarkets round here do a "Pick and Mix" arrangement.Mark Willishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04558305122821209520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-44249044231455541722015-09-26T17:21:23.139+01:002015-09-26T17:21:23.139+01:00I love that basket of tomatoes photo, Mark! I've yet to grow really successful beefsteak tomatoes and am thinking of popping a plastic greenhouse over a couple of plants next year. The flavour of home grown, especially if munched when walking round the garden, beats shop bought every time. I'm especially partial to nibbling on Yellow Pear tomatoes - and I've never seen those in the shops! What will you do with the black chillies? Do you string them for christmas decorations?Carohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11317388242574705433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-11351691580953066882015-09-26T13:51:01.435+01:002015-09-26T13:51:01.435+01:00Great post Mark those first two pictures just fant...Great post Mark those first two pictures just fantastic.

Have a good weekend.

All the best JanLowcarb team memberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07961199165290289611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-6847522515107630182015-09-26T13:03:22.124+01:002015-09-26T13:03:22.124+01:00Haha!
