Mine has germinated very well though. They came up in about the same time as the parsnips. Re the beans: I don't have much space - I am planning to grow all 9 varieties in only one of my raised beds (1 x 2.4 metres), but I will only plant a few of each. I just love having lots of different types!Mark Willishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04558305122821209520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-41263266287784373352011-04-14T21:51:42.578+01:002011-04-14T21:51:42.578+01:00Mark

What is your experience of germination rates/times compared to parsnips, or am I just being impatient?

and how big is your veg plot to be sowing all those varieties of climbing bean!Martin Wildnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-79027753092094530812011-04-07T10:42:14.577+01:002011-04-07T10:42:14.577+01:00Lovely neat rows Mark, but I think you may be righ...Lovely neat rows Mark, but I think you may be right about needing to take them off for the next few days - and then quickly putting them back on when we get the inevitable cold snap to keep us all on our toes...Janet/Plantaliscioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15605580157193047780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-5011984161681583232011-04-07T06:41:09.541+01:002011-04-07T06:41:09.541+01:00Like Diane, the thinning out stage upsets me, alth...Like Diane, the thinning out stage upsets me, although I know it needs doing. One of my friends takes spare plants for sale at an hospital fete each June, to help raise funds, so some of them go there.
I seldom grow so much of anything that I need to freeze it.
