And I'm a bit of a bowl collector as well - not a "true collector", but simply someone that would rather pick up a locally crafted bowl as a souvenir when I go somewhere than just about anything else.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-79714169532000765002015-08-02T23:52:33.740+01:002015-08-02T23:52:33.740+01:00Thank you for the garden tour...just beautiful. It's always interesting to see other gardens for we are forever learning about different planting methods and experimenting with different techniques. I spent some time yesterday researching "Square Foot Gardening"...another dimension to planting our vegie patches!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03835484829474894814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-28614040973677856092015-08-02T15:49:21.233+01:002015-08-02T15:49:21.233+01:00Didn't notice any screens, but there were cert...Didn't notice any screens, but there were certainly lots of "obelisks" and such-like made of willow. There were also bean-poles in the veg garden that might have been willow - though probably something stronger. They were quite twiggy, tied in bunches.Mark Willishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04558305122821209520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-88743188975465296512015-08-02T15:46:37.975+01:002015-08-02T15:46:37.975+01:00At Harlow Carr they use s lot of willow to create ...At Harlow Carr they use s lot of willow to create screens and support structures, do they do the sad at Wisley?Sue Garretthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08164518448098182276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-45639410215416380952015-08-02T13:38:36.289+01:002015-08-02T13:38:36.289+01:00Beechgrove Garden TV prog is conducting a trial of...Beechgrove Garden TV prog is conducting a trial of densely grown cabbages and has found that they can be planted very close together and still produce properly formed cabbage - just smaller than those grown with more space between plantings. The more space, the bigger the outside leaves and the longer to produce a larger heart. Close planting is also supposed to suppress weed growth between plants (but the plants on my allotment don't seem to know that).Spade and Daggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03447641240079673493noreply@blogger.com
