A couple of years ago I harvested lettuce until mid-November using a double Agribon cover (fleece). The temperature went down to -2° or -3°C a few times and the lettuce did just fine - and they were just "regular" varieties like Ruby Red & Simpson Elite. A variety like Arctic King may do well even with lower temps.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-75178812202158613442014-10-27T19:18:16.235+00:002014-10-27T19:18:16.235+00:00The Cancan lettuce looks picture perfect with not ...The Cancan lettuce looks picture perfect with not a nibble to be seen. There was a BBC article on it and besides the CanCan you are already growing, they suggest Arctic King and Valdor, plus the usual endive and mache/corn salad/lamb's lettuce. Trick is you have to have grown, established plants going into winter because growth will be very slow.David Veltenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07710293718143454000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-87216673579562590422014-10-27T12:37:17.376+00:002014-10-27T12:37:17.376+00:00Your beetroot has done well for you this year, it&...Your beetroot has done well for you this year, it's something I must do better with next year, I've missed it.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17436932004631816039noreply@blogger.com
