Light from the windowsills is not enough so that is not an option. I'm enjoying my new rig with a lot of capacity, but I still have just one heat mat.David Veltenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07710293718143454000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-54323439343099979202015-03-29T17:12:30.710+01:002015-03-29T17:12:30.710+01:00I was just going to echo Lou's thoughts on you...I was just going to echo Lou's thoughts on your chillis - So many are quite far along & looking great!Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-5215569979165596212015-03-29T13:00:53.364+01:002015-03-29T13:00:53.364+01:00Yep, I've had them go soggy before aswell, and...Yep, I've had them go soggy before aswell, and sometimes little mushrooms if they've had to hang around a long time before planting out but generally the loo rolls work well for me.<br />Ooh yes, I can see how the elmlea pots would be good for leeks too, thanks Mark.Lou@RainbowChardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01435858511588433002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-17590866536940911932015-03-29T12:23:36.668+01:002015-03-29T12:23:36.668+01:00No, I don't use the loo-roll technique. The Elmlea pots have been saved up for years now. They are good for Leeks as well as tomatoes.Mark Willishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04558305122821209520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-85352164437180766852015-03-29T11:31:07.466+01:002015-03-29T11:31:07.466+01:00Wow, your earliest chillies are huge. I save all my large yogurt pot innards (the kind that are clear plastic wrapped with cardboard) and cut off their bottoms and use them to protect my young plants when they go outside in the ground (like sweetcorn and beans). Loo roll innards are good for sowing beans and corn into aswell as you can just plant them straight into the ground without disturbing the roots ( I think I've seen photos that you do this too mark?) Here in Georgia it is 50 degrees today and we seldom have snow,, so I am glad to not have to juggle plants in and out. Though that isn't totally true. I've got those big plants going inside and out depending on the weather. Today is cold and snowy again so they are sitting just inside the sliding glass door. But tomorrow they might get a chance to go outside again. Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.com
