They'll probably recover but not do as well.Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14873738272799176944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-2981667772602087262011-04-29T06:46:51.135+01:002011-04-29T06:46:51.135+01:00It is looking good Mr Willis. Sorry about your beetroot :/ But I like your idea of an insurance policy planting. Usually one plant produces only a few fruit (maybe 3?), but they can get pretty big. The variety I am growing is called "Bush Baby", which is a small one, bred specially for small gardens. For more info see my post of 16 Aug 2010 called "Cucurbits".Mark Willishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04558305122821209520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-23849419510289197812011-04-28T06:27:28.676+01:002011-04-28T06:27:28.676+01:00Jenni: Yes, I sow lots of things directly into the...Jenni: Yes, I sow lots of things directly into the soil (though I often have to protect them against fox damage!). The things I sow in pots and seed-trays are mostly the frost-tender ones that need, or may need, protection from the elements. Sowing in pots also means you can get things started a few weeks before a piece of ground actually becomes vacant.Mark Willishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04558305122821209520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-68498051497666730972011-04-28T06:24:30.260+01:002011-04-28T06:24:30.260+01:00All looks really good Mark.
