I spotted a laden apple tree over a fenced car park in Winchester the other day and was seriously considering shimmying over the wall to scrump some for tea...I did decided against it in the end in case someone got the wrong idea! You have inspired me to keep looking!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13289057264276106892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-38775854330769662052014-08-25T20:03:15.021+01:002014-08-25T20:03:15.021+01:00With the rain forecast (correctly) for today, I de...With the rain forecast (correctly) for today, I determined to get out and forage yesterday. I came back with rosehips, sloes, blackberries and elderberries - although our elderberries have almost all gone, I guess the birds have got them. How fabulous finding all those plums - and even better being able to trade with a neighbour. Looking forward to seeing the results! That's an incredible forage ;D
We have to be careful because the Laird just lives along the lane from us and I'd hate to pinch all of his produce. Maybe I should go and tip my cap first then we won't be known as the local poachers!
Thinking about it though... if it were a hundred years or so ago, then we might have got a free passage back to Australia!
Fantastic photos... enjoy your Bank Holiday and forage fair ;)Neesiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08629847485174945501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-23638831029744865672014-08-25T09:55:04.236+01:002014-08-25T09:55:04.236+01:00We forage on the plot Mark, All but the sloes but ...We forage on the plot Mark, All but the sloes but their are plenty of blackthorn nearby. Apples seem to be the tree of choice that were planted years ago. And without some kind of protection they are just full of insects.
