I have too much heat, you have too little heat. Too bad we can't split the difference. I think we gardeners do like a challenge, that's why you're not giving up on that Birds Eye, it does look as though it's going to have lots of flowers though, just a little too late. We've been known to have good weather in to October before now so all may not be lost quite yet.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17436932004631816039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-42715657861873931962015-08-25T16:09:18.027+01:002015-08-25T16:09:18.027+01:00Your plants sure are looking beautifully lush and ...Your plants sure are looking beautifully lush and healthy. That Indian Chilli bullet is so interesting - there's never a shortage of variety when it comes to peppers, that's for sure. I actually harvest the Hungarian Hot Wax peppers when they are at the bright yellow stage, although last year I did let a couple colour up a bit more. I hope that your pepper surprise you and give you a good amount of ripe peppers before the cold weather sets in.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-27985704288829359152015-08-25T15:03:47.459+01:002015-08-25T15:03:47.459+01:00What a wonderful selection of chillis you've g...What a wonderful selection of chillis you've got this year. The Calico is indeed a very attractice plant. I used to love growing mild chinense types, but they seem to resent my current garden, it's just too cool early in the growing season and I don't have the patience to coddle them nor wait until the very end of the season for a few ripe fruits. Baccatum types do better for me if I want an "exotic" chilli, they are more tolerant of cool weather. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your ripe chillis.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07812702328134261533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3840827850297141825.post-47403753787000265892015-08-25T12:45:02.595+01:002015-08-25T12:45:02.595+01:00Mark, sensational article! If you can make it through an early September frost your plants will be producing well into late October I think. You will be shocked at how quickly they ripen as the nights get cool. You will have plenty of ammunition to make a great hot sauce, congrats on the super photos. I think I will do the same as you - simply plant them in pots so I could move them away from the hot sun.Vesna Marichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12265502263728106716noreply@blogger.com
