Harvest Monday - 28th December 2015

As some of you will know, Jane and I have been away in France for Christmas, staying with our daughter Fiona and her family - including the lovely Owen (4mths)! We are back home today. For obvious reasons, I don't have much to show off this week, but I do have a bunch of Broccoli:

I managed to get 8 spears of "Rudolph" PSB, and two of the "Endeavour" Brokali.

I cut these on Christmas Eve, just before we left home, but they have been in the fridge in one of those "Stayfresh" bags, so I'm sure they will be OK.

I don't know whether Dave at Our Happy Acres will be publishing a "Harvest Monday" post this week, but it's worth looking! If he does, I'm linking to it...

  1. Very pretty in the glass! Add a red ribbon and a Christmas ornament or two, and you have a centerpiece for your table! (I am sure it was delicious cooked, too)
Happy Harvests in the New Year!

  2. I envy your broccoli but in many ways it would be tricky keeping it picked before flowering at the moment when we aren't able to visit thr plot as frequently as we would need to.

  4. I hope you had an enjoyable visit with your daughter. The PSB and brokali look lovely, and I bet were welcome to have when you got back home.

  5. Spending time with your family in France sounds like a delightful way to spend the holiday. Your PSB is to be envied, as usual. I've never had much success with it since it always becomes incredibly infested with aphids, much more so than any other broccoli I've grown.

  7. A trip to France for Christmas with your family sounds lovely. PSB is a long way off for me, summer vegies for us here in Australia.

  8. Lovely broccoli - wish I had had the forethought to harvest my kohlrabi and mizuna before an ice/snow storm passed through the area. They would likely have faired much better had they been safely tucked away in my fridge.
